The 4280EN4001B is a genuine OEM ball bearing designed for the outer tub of LG front-load washing machines and washer-dryer combinations. In most LG washer tub assemblies, two bearings are used: a large outer bearing (typically this part) and a smaller inner bearing (typically 4280EN4001A). This bearing is press-fitted into the rear of the outer tub and houses the drum's drive shaft. It is engineered to handle the intense mechanical stress and heat generated during the spin cycle. When the tub seal fails, water enters the bearing race, causing corrosion and eventual mechanical failure. This leads to a loud "jet engine" roaring sound, excessive shaking, or even a seized drum. Replacing both bearings and the tub seal simultaneously is the standard practice for a successful, long-term repair.
